SEVEN-DAY PRODUCT GUARANTEE POLICY

Last updated: 12 September 2026

Bombay Jewellery and Cosmetics offers a limited Seven-Day Product Guarantee on selected products sold under the brand name Bombay Jewellery.

This Policy explains which products qualify, the guarantee period, covered defects, exclusions, claim procedure, inspection process and available remedies.

1. PRODUCTS COVERED

The Seven-Day Product Guarantee applies only where the relevant product is expressly marked “Guaranteed” through one or more of the following:

  • Product page;
  • Legal invoice;
  • Guarantee card or certificate;
  • Written order confirmation; or
  • Another official written communication from Bombay Jewellery.

A product is not covered merely because:

  • Another product from the same category is guaranteed;
  • A general advertisement mentions guaranteed jewellery;
  • The product has a gold-plated finish; or
  • The customer expected a guarantee to apply.

The product-specific listing or invoice must confirm guarantee eligibility.

2. GUARANTEE PERIOD

The guarantee period is seven calendar days beginning on the date of delivery.

The delivery date is counted as Day 1, and the claim must ordinarily be submitted no later than the end of Day 7.

The delivery date may be established using:

  • Courier tracking;
  • Delivery confirmation;
  • Customer acknowledgement;
  • Delivery OTP record; or
  • Other reasonable evidence of delivery.

A complaint submitted after the guarantee period may be declined unless another remedy is required under applicable law.

3. COVERED DEFECTS

Subject to inspection and the conditions of this Policy, the guarantee may cover:

  • Colour or plating defects arising during the guarantee period;
  • Manufacturing defects;
  • Stone-setting defects; and
  • Breakage directly caused by a manufacturing defect.

The guarantee applies to genuine product defects. It does not provide unconditional protection against every form of fading, scratching, damage or breakage.

4. COLOUR OR PLATING DEFECTS

A covered colour or plating defect may include an unusual or substantial plating failure arising during the guarantee period despite reasonable use and care.

The following do not automatically establish a covered defect:

  • Minor variation in colour between photographs and the physical product;
  • Natural reflection under different lighting;
  • Normal fading caused by wear;
  • Tarnishing caused by moisture or chemicals;
  • Change caused by perfume, sweat or cosmetics; or
  • Colour variation forming part of an antique, matte or handmade finish.

Every colour or plating claim will be assessed according to the product, evidence and inspection findings.

5. MANUFACTURING DEFECTS

A manufacturing defect may include a fault arising from the way the product was made or assembled, such as:

  • Insecure joint;
  • Faulty clasp;
  • Improperly attached component;
  • Defective fastening;
  • Structural weakness present at delivery; or
  • Another production fault affecting normal use.

A manufacturing defect does not include damage caused by force, impact, pulling, bending, misuse or inappropriate storage.

6. STONE-SETTING DEFECTS

A stone-setting defect may include a decorative stone becoming loose or detached during the guarantee period because it was not properly secured during manufacture.

Coverage does not ordinarily apply where a stone was lost or damaged because of:

  • Impact;
  • Dropping;
  • Pulling;
  • Bending;
  • Water exposure;
  • Chemical exposure;
  • Customer repair;
  • Rough handling; or
  • Ordinary wear unrelated to a manufacturing defect.

Customers should stop using the product immediately after noticing a loose stone.

7. BREAKAGE COVERAGE

Breakage is covered only where inspection indicates that it directly resulted from a manufacturing defect.

The guarantee does not cover breakage caused by:

  • Accidental impact;
  • Dropping;
  • Pulling or twisting;
  • Forceful adjustment;
  • Incorrect wearing or removal;
  • Storage under pressure;
  • Crushing;
  • Entanglement;
  • Children or pets;
  • Unauthorized repair; or
  • Another customer-caused event.

The fact that breakage occurred within seven days does not by itself prove a manufacturing defect.

8. EXCLUSIONS

The Seven-Day Product Guarantee does not ordinarily cover:

  • Normal wear and tear;
  • Minor scratches;
  • Ordinary fading or tarnishing;
  • Accidental damage;
  • Customer-caused breakage;
  • Bent or crushed components;
  • Damage caused by pulling or twisting;
  • Exposure to water or moisture;
  • Sweat-related discolouration;
  • Contact with perfume or deodorant;
  • Contact with lotion, cosmetics or sanitizer;
  • Contact with soap or chemicals;
  • Improper cleaning;
  • Improper storage;
  • Loss after delivery;
  • Theft;
  • Missing parts caused during use;
  • Damage caused by another person;
  • Unauthorized repair or alteration;
  • Resizing or modification after delivery;
  • Failure to follow care instructions;
  • Allergic reaction or individual skin sensitivity; or
  • A product not expressly marked Guaranteed.

These exclusions do not remove any mandatory remedy available under applicable consumer law.

9. PRODUCT CARE REQUIREMENTS

To maintain guarantee eligibility, customers should:

  • Keep jewellery away from water and moisture;
  • Remove jewellery before bathing or swimming;
  • Remove it before exercising or sleeping;
  • Avoid direct contact with sweat;
  • Avoid perfume, deodorant, lotion and cosmetics;
  • Avoid soap, sanitizer and chemicals;
  • Do not pull, twist, bend or drop the product;
  • Wipe it gently using a clean, soft and dry cloth;
  • Store each product separately in a dry pouch or box; and
  • Keep delicate jewellery away from children and pets.

A guarantee claim may be rejected where the verified damage resulted from failure to follow reasonable care instructions.

10. ARTIFICIAL AND GOLD-PLATED JEWELLERY

Unless expressly stated otherwise, our guaranteed products are artificial, imitation, fashion or gold-plated jewellery.

The guarantee does not represent that a product is:

  • Solid gold;
  • Investment gold;
  • Made from a precious metal;
  • Permanently resistant to fading;
  • Scratch-proof;
  • Waterproof; or
  • Indestructible.

Gold plating and artificial finishes naturally experience wear over time. The guarantee covers only eligible defects arising during the stated period and subject to this Policy.

11. CUSTOMIZED PRODUCTS

A customized or personalized product will receive the Seven-Day Guarantee only if its product page or invoice expressly marks it as Guaranteed.

Where covered, an eligible customized product may qualify for a remedy if it has a verified:

  • Colour or plating defect;
  • Manufacturing defect;
  • Stone-setting defect; or
  • Breakage caused directly by a manufacturing defect.

Customer-approved spelling, design, colour, measurements or size instructions are not defects merely because the customer later changes their preference.

12. SALE AND DISCOUNTED PRODUCTS

A sale, discounted or clearance product will receive the Seven-Day Guarantee only where its product page or invoice expressly states that it is Guaranteed.

A discounted price does not remove an expressly provided guarantee.

If the product was not marked Guaranteed, any claim will be assessed under the Return, Exchange and Refund Policy and applicable consumer law.

13. DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RETURN PERIOD AND GUARANTEE

The initial return-reporting period and the Seven-Day Guarantee are separate.

Initial return period

A claim involving a damaged, defective, missing, incorrect or materially misdescribed product should ordinarily be submitted within 48 hours after delivery.

Seven-Day Guarantee

For a product expressly marked Guaranteed, a covered colour, manufacturing, stone-setting or manufacturing-related breakage claim may be submitted within seven calendar days from delivery.

The guarantee does not create a seven-day change-of-mind return period.

14. NO CHANGE-OF-MIND RETURN

The guarantee cannot be used merely because:

  • The customer changed their mind;
  • The customer no longer wants the product;
  • The product does not match an outfit;
  • The customer does not like the design after delivery;
  • An incorrect size was selected by the customer; or
  • The customer expected a different appearance despite accurate product information.

Eligible size issues are handled separately under the Return, Exchange and Refund Policy.

15. HOW TO SUBMIT A GUARANTEE CLAIM

A claim may be submitted through:

Email: care@bombayjewelleryhp.com
Phone/WhatsApp: +91 78278 00726

The claim should include:

  • Customer’s full name;
  • Order number;
  • Registered phone number or email;
  • Product name;
  • Delivery date;
  • Date the issue was first noticed;
  • Description of the issue;
  • Clear photographs;
  • Clear video showing the defect where possible;
  • Invoice or readable copy;
  • Guarantee card where supplied; and
  • Preferred resolution.

The claim must be submitted within the guarantee period.

16. ORIGINAL INVOICE

The customer must provide:

  • Original legal invoice;
  • Readable photograph of the invoice;
  • Digital invoice issued by us; or
  • Another invoice copy that we can verify against our records.

The invoice should allow us to verify:

  • Product identity;
  • Purchase date;
  • Delivery or order details;
  • Guarantee eligibility; and
  • Original transaction.

A payment screenshot alone may be insufficient because it may not identify the guaranteed product.

17. PHOTOGRAPHS AND VIDEO

Evidence should clearly show:

  • Complete product;
  • Reported defect;
  • Broken, loose or discoloured area;
  • Original tag where still attached;
  • Product packaging where relevant; and
  • Any detached components available.

We may request an additional video showing how a clasp, joint or defective component operates.

Customers must not intentionally damage or alter the product to demonstrate the issue.

18. PRESERVATION OF THE PRODUCT

After discovering a possible defect, the customer should:

  • Stop wearing or using the product;
  • Preserve all detached parts;
  • Avoid repair or alteration;
  • Keep the product dry;
  • Preserve the invoice;
  • Retain the packaging where possible; and
  • Follow the claim instructions supplied by us.

Continuing to use a visibly defective product may worsen the damage and affect the ability to determine its cause.

19. PRELIMINARY REVIEW

After receiving a claim, we may:

  • Confirm whether the product is marked Guaranteed;
  • Verify the claim date;
  • Review photographs and video;
  • Request additional evidence;
  • Provide product-care guidance;
  • Request physical inspection;
  • Approve return or reverse pickup; or
  • Explain why the claim appears ineligible.

A preliminary review or approval for pickup does not guarantee the final remedy.

20. PHYSICAL INSPECTION

We may require the product to be physically returned for inspection.

The inspection may consider:

  • Product identity;
  • Guarantee eligibility;
  • Nature of the defect;
  • Product condition;
  • Signs of use;
  • Evidence of impact or force;
  • Water or chemical exposure;
  • Unauthorized alteration;
  • Missing components;
  • Consistency with submitted evidence; and
  • Whether the issue resulted from manufacture or customer use.

Final approval will generally be based on the inspection findings and available evidence.

21. RETURN OR REVERSE PICKUP

Where physical inspection is required, we may arrange reverse pickup if courier service is available.

The customer must:

  • Pack the product securely;
  • Include all detached components;
  • Include the invoice or readable copy;
  • Follow the return instructions;
  • Hand over the correct product; and
  • Retain pickup confirmation.

Where reverse pickup is unavailable, we may ask the customer to use a trackable courier after receiving authorization.

22. SHIPPING COST FOR APPROVED CLAIMS

Bombay Jewellery and Cosmetics will bear reasonable approved transportation costs where the claim is verified as a covered guarantee defect.

Where the claim is rejected because the damage resulted from misuse, accidental damage, prohibited exposure or another excluded reason, the customer may be required to pay the applicable return-delivery charge to receive the product back.

Unauthorized courier expenses will not be reimbursed.

23. AVAILABLE REMEDIES

If a guarantee claim is approved, the appropriate remedy may include:

  • Repair;
  • Replacement of a component;
  • Replacement of the product;
  • Exchange;
  • Refund;
  • Store credit with the customer’s agreement; or
  • Another reasonable remedy.

The remedy will depend on:

  • Nature and severity of the defect;
  • Repair feasibility;
  • Product availability;
  • Customer’s statutory rights; and
  • Proportionality of the remedy.

We will not impose store credit instead of a monetary refund where the customer is legally entitled to a monetary refund, unless the customer agrees.

24. REPAIR

Where repair is appropriate, the repaired product will be returned after completion and quality checking.

Repair time may depend on:

  • Nature of the defect;
  • Availability of components;
  • Courier time;
  • Product design; and
  • Technical feasibility.

We will provide a reasonable estimate where possible.

A repair under this guarantee does not convert the product into solid gold, waterproof jewellery or a permanently colour-fast product.

25. REPLACEMENT

A replacement is subject to stock availability.

Where the identical product is unavailable, we may offer:

  • Another product of comparable value;
  • Another available design;
  • Store credit with the customer’s agreement;
  • Refund where appropriate; or
  • Another mutually agreed remedy.

The customer is not required to accept a materially different replacement.

26. REFUND

Where a refund is approved after inspection, it will generally be initiated within 5–7 business days after approval.

For a prepaid order, the refund will be issued to the original payment method.

For a COD order, where no original electronic payment method exists, the refund may be issued to a verified UPI ID or bank account belonging to the customer or lawful purchaser.

After initiation, the payment provider or bank may require additional processing time.

27. REPLACEMENT PRODUCT GUARANTEE

A replacement product will receive:

  • The remaining period of the original Seven-Day Guarantee; or
  • Any fresh guarantee period expressly confirmed by us,

subject to applicable law.

A replacement does not automatically create a new seven-day period unless we confirm it or a fresh period is required by law.

Any statutory rights concerning the replacement remain unaffected.

28. REJECTED CLAIMS

A guarantee claim may be rejected where:

  • The product was not marked Guaranteed;
  • The claim was submitted after the guarantee period;
  • The product cannot be verified;
  • A different product was submitted;
  • Damage resulted from accident or misuse;
  • Water, sweat, perfume or chemical exposure caused the issue;
  • The product was altered or repaired;
  • Evidence was fabricated or misleading;
  • Components were intentionally removed; or
  • Another material condition of this Policy was not satisfied.

Where a claim is rejected, we will endeavour to communicate the reason.

29. FRAUDULENT CLAIMS

We may investigate or reject claims involving:

  • False invoice;
  • Altered invoice;
  • Product substitution;
  • Deliberate damage;
  • Fabricated photographs or videos;
  • Misrepresentation of the delivery date;
  • Duplicate claims; or
  • Another misuse of the guarantee.

A genuine claim will not be rejected merely because the customer expresses dissatisfaction or criticism.

30. RELATIONSHIP WITH LIFETIME 50% EXCHANGE

The Seven-Day Product Guarantee and Lifetime 50% Exchange Programme are separate benefits.

The Seven-Day Guarantee addresses eligible defects during the specified seven-day period.

The Lifetime 50% Exchange Programme provides an exchange adjustment for expressly eligible products, subject to its separate valuation and inspection conditions.

A guarantee claim does not automatically qualify for a Lifetime 50% Exchange, and an exchange-eligible product is not automatically guaranteed unless expressly marked as such.

31. STATUTORY RIGHTS

The Seven-Day Product Guarantee is an additional commercial benefit.

Nothing in this Policy excludes, restricts or replaces a consumer right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded under Indian law.

A product that is defective, incorrectly supplied or materially misdescribed may remain subject to an appropriate statutory remedy regardless of whether it was marked Guaranteed.

32. POLICY CHANGES

We may update this Policy to reflect product, operational, legal or regulatory changes.

The revised Policy will be published with an updated effective date.

Changes will apply prospectively and will not unfairly affect a claim already accepted under the applicable version.
